VapoFil Ingredients: Seven Named Extracts, 118 mg in Every Serving
VapoFil contains seven active ingredients and the label prints an amount for every one: saw palmetto berry, wild yam root, sarsaparilla root and nettle leaf extracts at 20 mg each, boron amino acid chelate at 20 mg, tongkat ali at 10 mg of a 100:1 extract and horny goat weed at 8 mg of a 10:1 extract. That is 118 mg in a two-capsule serving, with no proprietary blend and nothing hidden behind a single total.
The seven cards first, then each amount beside the dose the research used, then the label in full.

The seven VapoFil ingredients and their amounts
In the order the label prints them, with the label's own amount on every card. The coloured tag names the kind of extract.
Saw Palmetto Berry Extract
Serenoa repensA palm-berry extract and one of the most studied botanicals in men’s health.
Wild Yam Root Extract
Dioscorea villosaA climbing-vine root from traditional herbal practice that carries diosgenin, a plant steroid compound.
Sarsaparilla Root Extract
Smilax spp.A traditional tonic root from the Smilax genus, long used in herbal tonics and root beers.
Nettle Leaf Extract
Urtica dioica, leafStinging nettle leaf, a mineral-rich traditional herb and a familiar partner to saw palmetto.
Boron Amino Acid Chelate 5%
Boron bound to an amino acidA trace mineral in amino acid chelate form: five per cent of 20 mg gives 1 mg of elemental boron a serving.
Tongkat Ali (Eurycoma Longifolia)
Eurycoma longifolia, 100:1 extractA Southeast Asian root, and the panel line with the most human trial work behind it.
Horny Goat Weed (Epimedium sagittatum)
Epimedium sagittatum, 10:1 extractA Chinese herb whose best-known compound is icariin, here as a concentrated 10:1 extract.
118 mg in every serving
Five lines at 20 mg, one at 10 mg and one at 8 mg. Every figure on these cards is the amount in one day's two capsules.
No proprietary blendNo Daily Value on any line
Each of the seven carries the panel’s dagger: Daily Value not established. The label gives the weight in milligrams, not a percentage of a daily target.

VapoFil amounts beside the published research
Each study used its own preparation and amount. The comparison shows scale, not whether the capsule works: no trial has tested this exact formula.
| Name on the panel | On the VapoFil label | In the published research |
|---|---|---|
| Saw palmetto berry | 20 mg | Trials of the extract start at 320 mg a day. CAMUS stepped up to 640 and then 960 mg over 72 weeks and still saw no difference from placebo |
| Wild yam root | 20 mg | The only randomised trial of this species applied a cream to 23 women for three months; estradiol, progesterone, FSH and symptoms did not move |
| Sarsaparilla root | 20 mg | No human trial in men exists to compare against |
| Nettle leaf | 20 mg | The controlled work is on nettle ROOT; the phase III combination used 120 mg of root extract per capsule, taken twice a day |
| Boron amino acid chelate 5% | 20 mg of chelate, 1 mg of boron | The human depletion studies gave 3 mg of elemental boron a day |
| Tongkat ali (100:1) | 10 mg of extract | 200 mg a day of extract for six months in the randomised trial, twenty times the amount on this label |
| Horny goat weed (10:1) | 8 mg of extract | No human trial of icariin for this purpose; cell and rat studies only |
Research amounts as the studies linked below report them. None of those studies tested this formula.
The two most-studied lines
Saw palmetto’s trials are on urinary symptoms in older men at 320 mg a day. The CAMUS trial stepped 369 men up to 960 mg over 72 weeks without beating placebo, the 2023 Cochrane review found little to no benefit, and A 2021 meta-analysis found no difference in sexual function.
Tongkat ali has the most trial work in men. A six-month randomised trial gave 200 mg a day for six months to men with age-related androgen decline and reported better erectile-function scores, most clearly with exercise added. A 2015 meta-analysis found no significant difference from placebo at week 12.
Two lines in another form or amount
The nettle work uses the root: the phase III combination trial paired 120 mg of root extract with 160 mg of saw palmetto, twice a day, and a comprehensive review covers the root alone. For boron, the depletion and repletion studies gave 3 mg of the element a day, against 1 mg here.
Three lines with little human research
The one wild yam trial, by Komesaroff and colleagues, was a cream in 23 menopausal women and changed neither hormones nor symptoms. A 2024 review of the Smilax genus is chemistry and animal work, and A review of herbal approaches to erectile problems notes that the Epimedium research is mostly in animal models.
VapoFil ingredients by the numbers
The VapoFil ingredients, one at a time
What each plant or mineral is, where it comes from, and the form the label uses.
Saw palmetto berry, 20 mg
The berry of Serenoa repens, a low fan palm of the south-eastern United States. It is one of the best-known botanicals in men’s health formulas, and one of the best tolerated: NCCIH describes its side effects as mild and infrequent. Here it is a 20 mg berry extract.
Serenoa repensWild yam root, 20 mg
The root of Dioscorea villosa, a climbing vine native to eastern North America with a long place in traditional herbal practice. It carries diosgenin, a plant steroid compound that the Cosmetic Ingredient Review assessment describes as a starting material the pharmaceutical industry has used to make steroid compounds in the laboratory. Here it is a 20 mg root extract.
Dioscorea villosaSarsaparilla root, 20 mg
The root of Smilax vines from the tropical Americas and Asia, long used as a tonic and as the flavouring behind old-fashioned sarsaparilla soda and root beer. A 2024 review of the Smilax genus lists 134 chemical constituents identified in the plant. Here it is a 20 mg root extract.
Smilax speciesNettle leaf, 20 mg
The leaf of stinging nettle, Urtica dioica, a common plant of Europe, Asia and North America that is also eaten as a green and brewed as tea. The leaf is rich in minerals and has partnered saw palmetto in men’s formulas for decades. The label names the part used, the leaf, as a 20 mg extract.
Urtica dioica, leafBoron amino acid chelate 5%, 20 mg
Boron is a trace mineral that reaches most diets through fruit, vegetables, nuts and legumes. The chelate binds it to an amino acid, and at 5% the 20 mg on the label delivers 1 mg of boron itself. The NIH Office of Dietary Supplements puts typical US adult intake at roughly 0.87 to 1.35 mg a day and the adult upper limit at 20 mg. One serving roughly doubles an ordinary day's intake and stays far below the limit.
Trace mineralTongkat ali, 10 mg of a 100:1 extract
Eurycoma longifolia, a Southeast Asian shrub whose root has been used in Malaysian and Indonesian tonics for generations. It is the ingredient on this label with the most trial work in men. The label equates its 10 mg to about 1,000 mg of dry tongkat ali powder, a 100:1 concentration.
Eurycoma longifoliaHorny goat weed, 8 mg of a 10:1 extract
Epimedium sagittatum, a leafy perennial from China with a long history in traditional Chinese medicine, where it has been used as a tonic for men. Its best-known compound is icariin. The 8 mg on the label is equal to about 80 mg of dry herb, a 10:1 concentration.
Epimedium sagittatumReading an extract line
An extract weight is the weight of the concentrate, not of the plant. Only two lines print a ratio, so only those two can be turned back into dry herb; the other five give the extract weight alone, which is the figure to compare with another label.
Extract ratiosThe other ingredients in a VapoFil capsule
Three more lines sit under the panel, each with a job in making or holding the capsule.
Microcrystalline cellulose (MCC)
Purified plant fibre used as a filler, so every capsule fills evenly around a small, exact amount of the actives.
Gelatin
The capsule shell. Gelatin is made from animal collagen, so VapoFil does not suit vegetarians, vegans or anyone who avoids animal products.
Magnesium stearate
A flow agent used in very small amounts so the powder does not stick to the filling machines.
VapoFil ingredients: common questions
How many ingredients are in VapoFil?
Seven active ingredients, each with its own printed amount, adding up to 118 mg per two-capsule serving. The capsule also holds microcrystalline cellulose, gelatin and magnesium stearate.
Does VapoFil use a proprietary blend?
No. Every active ingredient has its own milligram figure on the label, so you can see exactly how much of each one a serving contains.
How much tongkat ali is in VapoFil?
10 mg of a 100:1 extract per two-capsule serving, which the label equates to about 1,000 mg of dry tongkat ali powder. The dosage table on this page sets it beside the amount its research used.
How much boron does a serving of VapoFil provide?
The label lists 20 mg of boron amino acid chelate at 5%, which is 1 mg of elemental boron. The NIH Office of Dietary Supplements puts the adult upper limit at 20 mg a day.
